More to come, because as I said there are more like twenty than five and please remember there’s no ranking. Two of my absolute top ones were in the previous post: Streep & Anderson. Now, let’s see about this post. We start with someone I adore to pieces, someone I find absolutely and ultimately smoking hot.

Lena Olin

She plays the wonderful and deadly and simply amazing Irina Derevko. The one where people go ‘you will love her’ before you start watching Alias, the one where you will go ‘that lying bitch? Never’ for a few episodes until you’re like ‘oh, that one, I get it now.’ Best character ever on TV (next to Sheldon Cooper, because Sheldon Cooper is my little geek hero) and the way she played it was just smashing. I have seen her in nearly everything else she did, only a couple of films are missing. She was great in Hollywood Homicide along with Mr. Ford. She played the Devil next to Johnny Depp in the 9th Gate. And she had a small role in The Reader. She’s 55 years old and one of those women that were beautiful when they were young but simply beyond words now. She’s Swedish and the trace of accent she has in her English is for me reason enough to melt on my couch. I do hope somebody will end up doing something with that Lady in the coming years. There wasn’t enough Alias, did you hear me JJ? There wasn’t enough Alias. She also delivered a great performance on Romeo Was Bleeding, however that movie was many different kinds of strange.

Elizabeth Mitchell

Oh, how I loved thee. She jumped onto my TV years and years back, must have been 10 years ago, playing Dr. Kim Legaspi on Emergency Room at the side of Kerry Weaver and I fell for the blonde psychiatrist head over heels. When the channel let her go I actually wrote them, that’s how much I loved her during my teenage years. Then she came back to Lost and the flatmate will tell you that I squeed for a full 5 minutes when she finally showed up and I was like it’s Mitchell, squeee, it’s Mitchell, oh my God, I love her. It was quite pathetic. I will have to start watching V now. I went to see Santa Clause in theatres because of her. That’s how pathetic this got.

Mary McDonnell

Yes, she was on Donnie Darko. Yes, she was Carter’s mother on Emergency Room. But mostly she was President Roslin on Battlestar Galactica. A clever science fiction show that I loved like no other show in that genre and mostly because of the characters. She was brilliant. She was beautiful. She was strong. She had power, she had attitude and she wasn’t afraid to airlock anybody. In fact Mrs. Airlock was quite scary sometimes. 58 years old and also one of those women that were quite pretty young and turned absolutely stunning a few years later. There are a few scenes and episodes where she reduced me to a pathetic sobbing mess that needed tissue after tissue after tissue.

What’s that you say? I might have something with older women? Oh. Didn’t know that. Thank you for pointing it out.

Crystal Chappell

Does it need words? Does it need explanations? Does it need anything? She created Venice, she was half of Otalia and she’s my most beautiful Goddess. She currently has a role on Days Of Our Lives and sometimes I must admit I have troubles catching up. (I’m like 6 months behind, I think but I am watching.) But she’s brilliant and she was brilliant on Guiding Light where she played the wonderful Olivia Spencer. Her bench slide might have nearly made me faint. And the eye-sex that was going on? Hot. Love her commitment to her work and to her fans. Wonderful Lady.

Tarja Turunen

Oh, that voice. The first voice that has managed to make me cry. She has sung the first songs that have made me cry. Of course it was Tuomas that wrote them and it was Nightwish as a whole that delivered them but it was her and her voice that made my stomach turn and my tears flow. (If one reads these posts, one might start thinking the author is crying quite often, which might or might not be the truth.) When it was announced that she was leaving Nightwish my world crumbled for a few seconds (until I realised that the world does not revolve around a band) but it did make me, you guessed it, cry that she left and Nightwish in my humble opinion has never been the same again. I follow her solo career and I quite liked her first album and I will buy the second one that just came out, too. But it’s not the kind of music I listen to for hours, not like Nightwish.

Tja und hier kommen die heissersehnten Bilder von Tarja Turunen. Das Konzert fand im Rohstofflager statt, am 18. Mai, 2008.

Me and R.S.

Schade.

Tarja Turunen
My Winter Storm

Ite, Missa Est
How about making me shiver all over? It’s such an awesome intro, it’s just 30 seconds but it makes you happy and it fully prepares you for a wonderful experience.

I Walk Alone
Keep all the roses, I’m not dead.
Whisper to my heart when hope is torn apart and no one can save you.
It’s beyond words otherwise.
10/10

Lost Northern Star
She’s got such a colourful voice, it’s simply amazing to listen to her. I’m not really sure what to say, her music just fills me with joy and happiness. The guitars are awesome, they’re strong and they’re well played. It all fits with the orchestra. I love that she got so many strings around.
10/10

Seeking For The Reign
One minute to make me realise that I’m about to witness one hell of a wonderful song.

The Reign
It starts really slow.
I’ll move on to another place from my memories unmade. I’ll hold on and my heart will find you there, love will shine free forever.
When she sings those lines you simply want to die. Probably because something this beautiful just is too much to bear.
It’s probably the most beautiful song ever.
12/10 – I know, I know, don’t tell me. Hee.

The Escape Of The Doll
This one prepares you for the Phoenix and I tell you it makes you wanna hear it.

My Little Phoenix

I’m dying inside, right from the start.
Robbed of my innocence, had no more time to play, I sure go tmy feathers burned, but I’m stronger than the flames.

The chorus is not my favourite though. I’m not sure what it is, it just doesn’t grab me as much as the verses do.
10/10

Die Alive
Somehow, this song is just average in my opinion (if we ignore the absolutely wonderful ending with the chorus and the orchestra), but the title describes well what I tend to do when Tarja sings.
9/10

Boy And The Ghost
Wonderful. A masterpiece.
I simply love it.
So does every single hair on my body, I’m like shivering all over.
10/10

Let me interupt for a second here to ask a question: What’s with those people and dead boys?

Sing For Me
Starts spooky.
But, oh my God, her voice.
There’s a little devil in my mouth writing ugly words for you to shout. The virgin soul that lived in me is raped by insecurity. I need you to sing.
It’s powerful.
10/10

Oasis
It’s gotta be the perfect song.
It starts in a way that you expect the Black Pearl to show up out of nowhere, just that instead of a ship strings and a keyboard appear with the most beautiful melody and then it’s all about her voice and the music and me dying a little bit with every second that passes.
12/10 – I can’t help it.

Poison
We all know, it’s a cover. It’s Alice Cooper (right?) and it rocks.
It was the best thing live, just to tell you, it made me want to headbang, and it doesn’t go any shorter than my hair, so, yeah, I had a problem.
10/10

Our Great Divide
Soft, slow. Just close your eyes and dream, let yourself get carried away by the most beautiful woman with the most amazing voice ever to walk this earth.
10/10

Sunset
Another great preparation for another great song.

Damned And Divine
Scars of my broken kisses.
Every single dawn I die again.

Wonderful and downright beautiful.
10/10

Ciarans Well
It’s heavy. There’s guitars. It rocks.
Did I mention there’s guitars? They’re awesome.
10/10

Minor Heaven

And we go back to soft.
It’s the second song of this album that I’d only consider as average. Meaning: I like it. It’s great. They’re all great. But it doesn’t have that blowing me right off my chair effect that the others have.
9/10

Calling Grace
It’s once again Tarja showing that she’s got this colourful voice that can fill you with all kinds of feelings that you didn’t even realise existed. Once more a soft song but still powerful and full of emotions.
10/10

Nightwish, who? Yeah, they’re great but it was her voice, always her voice that filled me with happiness. Tarja, let me tell you: You rock. No discussion. You’re the best.

December 19, 2007, 3:52 am : I MET TARJA!

Discussion: C[1]mments

Ok, I’m like this 13 years old teenager and a groupie but: OH MY GOD! She shook my hand. She kissed me. I touched her. SHE KISSED ME. But, let’s start from the beginning.

Tarja, the lovely, beautiful singer, well, ex-singer from Nightwish played in Zurich tonight. I went with C. We met this awesome but weird couple and had a pretty nice evening. The band before was good too. But then Tarja came. And she sang. (Yeah, surprise hee.) And it was beautiful. Her voice is so great.
She played Passion and the Opera. I died.
She played Phantom of the Opera. I died again.
She played Walking in the Air. Guess what: I died.
She was there. Present. Full of emotions.

Let me tell you: It was good to separate from Nightwish because she was happy. She seemed so full of emotions, she connected with the public. She looked us in the eyes. She sang like a Goddess.

I was like in second row, well first in the fourth or fifth row and we slowly were able to make our way forward towards the stage. After the last song (even Nemo was great, and her Poison Cover? Awesome!) she started shaking hands. And as I was in the second row, I thought that I could just straight forget it. But she shook my hand.

So, C. had to catch his train, so he did. We stayed. I mean: SHE SHOOK MY HAND! We waited and then Marcello came. He told us she’d come down. I bought her CD. I had my ticket. I was trembling.

They closed the doors of the club, I was hoping she’d come. But, I wasn’t sure. Marcello told us to wait. We did. We didn’t believe it, but we did. And then, then the security guy came and told us to wait in the lobby of the hotel. She’d come down. So we went there and then she came. In her comfortable clothes, all tired but she came. She kissed us all. THREE KISSES. She asked us where we came from. Then she took her time to sign our stuffs.

And yes, some people had like 321 things to sign. She did. She signed my ticket, then my CD. I told her the show was awesome. She was all emotional and thanked us and told us that she loved it and that she’d be back. Then, she made pictures with us. She smiled. She laughed. She cared. I love her.

Oh, my, God, Tarja kissed me. I got a picture with her and me. She signed my stuff. It’s like heaven.

I told her that she’s like the most beautiful woman ever and she was all, nah, I’m all sweaty and tired and blah and I was all, noooo, and thank you so much. And she really took her time. She wasn’t stressing. She took her time and really was there for us. And I LOVE HER.

And I died. Happy. And I touched her. And I died. And yeah. Update about my life, as promised coming asap. And pictures with Tarja.

TARJA KISSED ME.
